February 17, 2023•Diageo has kicked off a new global ad campaign for Tanqueray called “Let’s Live Magnificently.” The campaign consists of a series of 10-, 20-, and 30-second spots, along with out of home advertisements, all created by the agency Anomaly London. “Let’s Live Magnificently” is Tanqueray’s first global ad push since 2018 and the new spots and OOH ads will roll out over the next few months in North America, the U.K., Northern and Southern Europe, Australia, and Brazil.
•Bordeaux’s struggling farmers are unimpressed with government proposals to help them with a crisis that is threatening their way of life. France’s agricultural minister has a plan to get rid of excess wine stocks across the nation, but without bigger changes, farmers will continue to face financial ruin. Over the last five years, Bordeaux’s average annual crop has been about 480 million cases, but they’ve only been selling 440 million. Every year, a surplus of wine is building up and growers are sinking further into debt. Wine Spectator has the full story.
•Constellation Brands has appointed Ricardo Dalmas as senior vice president, strategy, insights and analytics (SIA). Dalmas will lead the SIA function at Constellation, leveraging data and consumer-centric thinking to inspire what is next for Constellation’s brands, innovations, channels, and investments, according to the company. He joins Constellation from Nestle USA where he led the Consumer & Marketplace Insights team responsible for insights and analytics across the company’s U.S. food and beverage divisions.
•Island Brands USA has launched flavored malt beverage brand Crush in five new states, as well as debuting a new flavor and new look. The new markets for the brand include Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, where Crush will also receive cans with new art. The new flavor—Strawberry Lemonade—joins Tropical Punch and Lime Margarita in the brand’s portfolio. All three are at 10% abv and come in 16- and 19.2-ounce cans.
