•The Kraken Rum is rolling out a new Gold Spiced expression. The 35% abv extension retails at $22 a 750-ml. and is also available in 1-liter and 1.75-liter bottles. Lander Otegui, SVP of marketing at Proximo Spirits, noted that “gold spiced rum occasions are now the highest among the rum category.” To back the launch, the brand is launching a new visual campaign, “Tale of Gold,” as well as a Golden Hour sweepstakes. The advertisement is directed by Rich Lee, known for his work on the first three The Pirates of the Caribbean films.

•RumChata, part of the Spirit of Gallo portfolio, is introducing a new flavor, Coconut Cream. Billed as a summery, rum-forward expression of the liqueur brand, Coconut Cream joins the original RumChata as well as flavors like Limón and Peppermint Bark in the lineup. RumChata is backed by an ongoing “Have Your Unusual” consumer campaign. RumChata grew an estimated 1.5% to 645,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

•Treasury Wine Estates is extending 19 Crimes with a California Sauvignon Blanc. Snoop Cali Blanc retails at $15 and marks the fourth entry in 19 Crimes’ collaboration with Snoop Dogg. It joins Snoop Cali Red, Cali Rose, and Snoop Cali Gold in the collection. 19 Crimes benefited from new product activity last year, with its Martha’s Chard and Cali Gold offerings—the former marketed in collaboration with Martha Stewart—jumping out to 170,000 cases and 65,000 cases respectively in 2022.

•Compass Box is launching The Peat Monster Cask Strength, a new limited edition blended malt Scotch whisky. The 56.7% abv offering is a blend of Williamson Islay Malt aged in refill American oak hogsheads (35%); malt whisky from the Caol Ila Distillery, aged in refill American oak hogsheads (34.2%), American oak Bourbon barrels (17.9%), and refill puncheons (11.8%); and a Highland malt blend aged in custom French oak barrels with a heavy toast (1.1%). The Peat Monster Cask Strength is rolling out in a global supply of 9,126 bottles retailing at $125 each.

•Chicago-based Zing Zang is introducing a new Blazing Bloody Mary flavor in both RTD and mixer format, billed as an extra spicy version of the classic cocktail. For the RTD variant, each 12-ounce slim can contains 9% alcohol by volume and offers the equivalent of two cocktails in each can. Zing Zang’s other RTDs include Bloody Mary, Margarita, Mango Margarita, and Bourbon Whiskey Sour. Across both its mixers and RTDs, Zing Zang is available in over 200,000 retail and on-premise locations nationwide.
