•Bacardi has announced a number of global leadership changes. Pete Carr, who moves into the previously announced role of global growth officer on April 1, will add leadership of Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) to his responsibilities. In addition to the region, Carr will lead global digital commerce, on-trade, and route-to-market efforts. Vijay Subramaniam, regional president of AMEA and global travel retail, adds Australia and New Zealand, formerly under the EUROC region, to his responsibilities. And Ignacio “Nacho” del Valle will take on the role of regional president, Western Europe. The moves come following the retirement of Francis Debeuckelaere, regional president Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand (EUROC), after nearly 30 years with Bacardi.

•Pernod Ricard-owned Irish Distillers has launched the latest whiskey from the Powers brand. The 43.2% abv whiskey is distilled from 100% rye and aged in a combination of new, first fill, and refill American oak barrels. The spirit, a permanent addition to the Powers family, retails for around $32 in the U.S.

•Auction house Sotheby’s has appointed Vanessa Conlin as global head of wine retail. Conlin comes to her new role from Wine Access where she served as chief wine officer. In addition to being a Master of Wine, Conlin also has experience at Dana Estates in Napa. In her new role, Conlin will lead the company’s strategic wine offerings as well as further develop Sotheby’s digital content and global retail strategy.
