Shaw-Ross Acquires Tyku Sake From Diageo

March 16, 2023

Florida-based Shaw-Ross International Importers has purchased the Tyku Sake brand from Diageo for an undisclosed sum. Diageo had acquired the brand in 2020 via its $610 million deal for Davos Brands in 2020. “As the nation’s leading importer of sake, we feel that Tyku complements our growing Japanese portfolio by increasing our range of premium sakes,” said Shaw-Ross president Scott Jove. “From Gekkeikan to Iichiko, Shaw-Ross represents the top brands in the Japanese drinks categories and we are well positioned to take advantage of the U.S. consumer’s growing interest in the country’s culture and products.”—Daniel Marsteller
