Concha y Toro’s U.S. Sales Up 3.4% To $157 Million In 2022

March 20, 2023

Concha y Toro’s U.S. business, operating under the Bonterra Organic Estates moniker, saw sales climb 3.4% to $157 million in 2022, despite a 16% volume decrease to 3.2 million cases. The company blamed the volume decline on “lower sales in smaller than-US$11 retail categories and lower sales of bulk wine during this period,” adding that the lower-end struggles were partially offset by higher sales in its super- and ultra-premium portfolio, which more than doubled in value and increased 49% by volume.

The company’s revenues benefited from an average price/sales mix increase of 7% for the year. In addition to the Bonterra and Fetzer brands from California, the Bonterra Organic Estates portfolio includes South American imports like Marques de Casa Concha, Don Melchor, Casillero del Diablo, Cono Sur, and Trivento, among others.—Daniel Marsteller
