March 21, 2023•C. Mondavi & Family is launching CK Mondavi Family Select, a new offering from winemaker Angelina Mondavi. Made from select grapes from the family’s own 1,850 acres of vineyards, along with fruit from grower partners, the new line includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay varietals retailing at $16, offering a trade-up from the CK Mondavi and Family core range. The new wines are debuting across Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, and Massachusetts, and will be available in additional markets in the coming 12 months.
•Diageo has expanded the Astral Tequila brand with two new offerings—Reposado and Añejo bottlings—in select markets across the U.S. The new releases will launch on April 1 in California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, New York, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia with the Reposado retailing for around $28 and the Añejo for around $35. Both new releases are matured in single-use American oak ex-Bourbon barrels before bottling. The Reposado matures for five months and the Añejo for 12.
•Conecuh Brands, known for Clyde May’s whiskey and Prospero Tequila, has announced two promotions, with the company naming new senior vice presidents for both open and control states. Brian Cahill, previously vice president, sales, central region, has been promoted to senior vice president of sales, open states, after three years with Conecuh. Prior to joining Conecuh, Cahill worked at Treasury Wine Estates and Sazerac. The company has also promoted Michael Mosley, naming him the senior vice president for control states. Mosley has been with Conecuh for eight years, prior to which he served with Sidney Frank and Brown-Forman.
