•Don Sebastiani & Sons has announced Flybird Fiesta Shots, a new extension to the company’s agave-wine based cocktails. The shots come in 4-packs of 2-ounce shot glasses with each shot at 20% abv. The extension debuts with four flavors—Lime and Roasted Jalapeño, Passion Fruit and Tajín, Piña and Papaya, and Strawberry and Guava—and the 4-packs are rolling out now in select markets across the U.S. for around $14. The shots join the rest of the Flybird family, which includes six different Margaritas and four other cocktails in 750-ml. bottles, along with three other cocktails available in 4-packs of 250-ml. cans.

•Sweet Amber Distilling Co. has released Blackened Cask Strength Whiskey Volume 01 across the U.S. The latest release from the Metallica-affiliated whiskey is a higher-proof bottling of the original Blackened’s blend of Bourbon and rye whiskies finished in brandy casks. Like all of Blackened’s releases, the whiskey is blasted with low hertz sound waves in an effort to increase interaction between the whiskey and the oak of the finishing barrel. This release was helmed by master distiller and blender Rob Dietrich and carries a suggested price of $70 a 750-ml.

•Komos Tequila is adding to its lineup with a new Añejo Reserva expression. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, Añejo Reserva is aged a minimum 12 months in a variety of barrels including French oak, white wine casks, American Bourbon casks, and sherry casks, and then blended and aerated. It is available for pre-order now at ReserveBar and will be available at on- and off-premise accounts beginning next month for a suggested $170 a 750-ml. Komos Tequila is represented in the U.S. by Spirit of Gallo.

•Monterey, California-based Scheid Family Wines has appointed Paul Pieretti as vice president of operations. He joins from Bolthouse Farms, where he was also vice president of operations, and has previously worked at E.&J. Gallo Winery and Constellation Brands. In his new role he will lead and evolve operational activities with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability to support the company’s growth strategy. The Scheid portfolio includes Scheid Vineyards, Sunny with a Chance of Flowers, and Grandeur, among others.
