•San Antonio, Texas-based Maverick Distilling is releasing the limited-edition Samuel Maverick Barrel Aged Texas Dry Gin. Distilled in small batches and aged in Bourbon barrels, only 250 bottles were produced. In addition to standard gin botanicals like juniper berries and coriander, Maverick’s Texas Gin includes locally grown pecans, grapefruit zest, and Mexican mint marigold, among others. It was bottled at 45% abv and is available for purchase through the distillery’s website for $45 a 750-ml., shipping to 42 states.

•Storywood, a new Tequila brand matured using whisky barrels from Scotland, has launched in Texas and California. The new brand has debuted with two expressions—Reposado and Añejo—retailing for around $51 and $85, respectively. The brand’s Reposado Speyside 7 Tequila matures in its namesake Scotch whisky barrels for over seven months and Storywood’s Añejo Speyside 14 matures for 14 months. Both releases are bottled at 40% abv. Storywood is now available in Spec’s and other retailers in Texas and in Total Wine in California, as well as through the brand’s website.
