Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) has acquired Young Won Trading, a distributor of Asian spirits, sake, wine, and beer across five Mid-Atlantic markets, for an undisclosed sum. RNDC COO Bob Hendrickson said the deal “increases business in Virginia, Maryland, D.C., Pennsylvania, and expands our distribution to North Carolina. We are excited to continue to broaden our beverage portfolio.”

Founded in 1997 by William Hwang, Young Won now has 500 products in its portfolio. With operations across 38 states and Washington, D.C., RNDC is projected to see revenues of $12.5 billion this year, according to Shanken’s Impact Newsletter. With the addition of North Carolina, the company is continuing its steady march into new markets, with other more recent additions including Illinois and New York, as well as expansion in New England.
