Craft Brewing and Distilling News for May 24, 2023

•FX Matt Brewing Co., producer of the Saranac line of beers, has acquired Frederick, Maryland’s Flying Dog Brewery for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will bring production of Flying Dog’s portfolio to FX Matt’s Utica, New York facility beginning this summer, with Flying Dog’s Maryland facility set to shut down late in the season. While the production facility for Flying Dog will close, FX Matt intends to run a taproom and smaller brewery in the Frederick area. The companies have history with FX Matt contract brewing some Flying Dog beers as the Maryland-based brewer outgrew its production capacity.
