Coppola’s Fast-Rising Diamond Collection Unveils New Red Blend
August 22, 2012Francis Ford Coppola Winery is adding a new label to its Diamond Collection line, one of the U.S. wine market’s fastest-growing super-premium brands.
The new Diamond Collection Red Blend is a mix of 27% Zinfandel, 26% Syrah, 20% Petite Sirah, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot. It includes grapes from Napa, Sonoma, Lodi and El Dorado and will retail at $18 a bottle. Red Blend joins a Diamond Collection line that includes Claret, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Pavilion, Petite Sirah, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah-Shiraz and Zinfandel.
Along with Rodney Strong and La Crema (Kendall-Jackson), the Diamond Collection is one of the market’s top California wine brands priced above $15. Since 2005, the Diamond Collection has risen by more than 50% to 770,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
