September 12, 2012•Downingtown, Pennsylvania-based Victory Brewing Co. has unveiled its first-ever wine barrel-aged beer, Red Thunder. The 8.5%-abv offering, which begins as the brewery’s popular Baltic Thunder porter, is aged in red wine barrels from California’s Wente Vineyards and then packaged in 750-ml. corked bottles. Rolling out in late November, Red Thunder will initially be available at Victory Brewing’s Downingtown retail store, expanding into additional outlets in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts and Ohio soon after. Founded in 1996, Victory Brewing currently distributes its portfolio of 12 year-round brews and nine seasonals to 29 states.
