•Papillion, Nebraska-based Nebraska Brewing Co. has added a new brew, Responsibly, to its limited edition Inception Series. Rolling out on September 27 at the Nebraska Brewing brewpub, the 11.8%-abv offering is a Belgian-style Quad aged in 50-year-old French oak Cognac casks. First launched last year as an experimental small-batch range, Nebraska Brewing’s Inception Series has focused primarily on barrel-aged offerings packaged in 22-ounce bombers. Previous Inception brews include Toasted Barn, Microbe Rue, Sexy Betty, Ugly Betty and Romancing The Cone. Established in 2007, Nebraska Brewing also produces around nine year-round and seasonal beers, as well as its higher end Reserve Series.

•Escondido, California-based Stone Brewing Co. has partnered with Baltimore’s Stillwater Artisanal Ales and Denmark’s Evil Twin Brewing to create a new beer, The Perfect Crime. Billed as a smoky black saison, the 7.5%-abv brew was made at Stone’s Escondido brewery in collaboration with Stillwater’s Brian Strumke and Evil Twin’s Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergso. The Perfect Crime will be available in 12-ounce bottles and on draft, with its launch date yet to be announced. The Perfect Crime is Stone Brewing Co.’s 15th collaborative expression, following the recent launch of Saison du Buff, created in partnership with Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione and Victory Brewing’s Bill Covaleski.
