Treasury, Charmer Team Up In New Jersey, Delaware

September 25, 2012

Treasury Wine Estates has expanded its alliance with Charmer Sunbelt Group, naming Charmer’s R&R Marketing and United Distributors units to handle its portfolio in New Jersey and Delaware, respectively. In Delaware, United will become Treasury’s exclusive distributor, while in New Jersey, R&R will handle the entire Treasury portfolio—including Beringer, Chateau St. Jean, Penfolds, Wolf Blass and others—on a non-exclusive basis. The new arrangements in Delaware and New Jersey were effective August 1 and September 1, respectively.

In Delaware, Treasury’s brands were previously split between United Distributors and Southern Wine & Spirits (which remains Treasury’s largest distribution partner). In New Jersey, R&R Marketing and ABD (part of Opici) previously split Treasury’s brands between them. Now, both R&R and ABD will handle the full Treasury portfolio on a dual basis. The new agreements build on the existing partnership between Charmer and Treasury, which were already aligned in metro and upstate New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Arizona, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
