Craft Brewing And Distilling News for October 2, 2012
October 2, 2012•Portland, Oregon-based startup Taplister has launched a new “craft beer discovery platform.” Designed to help bars and restaurants publish their craft beer selections instantly across multiple digital outlets, the platform allows consumers to view a venue’s offerings on Facebook, Twitter, mobile devices, tablets and Taplister.com. Additionally, restaurants and bars can utilize Taplister’s Digital Beer Board, which turns any HDTV or web-friendly 1080p digital signage display into a digital beer menu. The menu can also feature information such as each beer’s abv content, bitterness, price and size of serving, as well as its rating, via Taplister’s partnership with beer review website RateBeer.com. Consumer access to Taplister is free, while access for on-premise businesses can range from free to $99 a month, depending on included features.

According to local media reports, the company is prepping the installation of a 60-gallon still, which will be capable of producing between 3,000-3,500 cases of whiskey per year. While various whiskies—including wheat, rye, oat and millet varieties—will be Feisty Spirits’ primary focus, the distiller also plans to eventually experiment with other small-batch offerings, including a peach brandy. Feisty Spirits expects to have bottles available at local retail and on-premise accounts by the end of the year.

The three are available now in bottles, priced around $6.49 per six-pack. Woodland Pass IPA and Redwood Flats Amber are also available on draft. Weinhard’s also produces Blue Boar, Northwest Wheat and Blonde Lager.
