March 6, 2013•Palm Bay International has introduced a Sparkling Moscato to the lineup of Brazil’s Terra Andina. The wine retails at $14.99 a 750-ml. Sparkling Moscato joins a Terra Andina portfolio that includes a Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère from Chile and Malbec from Argentina (all priced at $12.99 a 750-ml.). In other company news, Palm Bay has unveiled new packaging for its Blue Fish Original and Sweet Riesling labels. Starting with the 2012 vintage, both will be packaged in an “elegant flute bottle,” with a bolder brand name and redesigned fish icon. Blue Fish wines are in national distribution and retail for $9.99 a 750-ml.
•Portland, Oregon-based House Spirits Distillery—co-owned by NFL legend Joe Montana—has released a new bottle design for its Aviation gin. Developed in partnership with brand design firm Sandstrom Partners, the new clear bottle is now being distributed nationwide. It is meant to resemble a flask, features aircraft imagery and was also created in collaboration with bartenders to make a shape that is easy to grab and handle. House Spirits also recently signed a national distribution agreement with Southern Wine & Spirits to expand the brand’s footprint across the country.
