•Ancram, New York-based Hillrock Estate Distillery is launching two new products this month—Hillrock Estate Distillery Single Malt Whiskey and George Washington’s Rye Whiskey. Hillrock’s new single malt is 48.2%-abv and retails at $125 a 750-ml. bottle. Made from organic barley grown on the estate, the new whiskey is an unpeated malt (Hillrock says peated whiskies may follow in the future). George Washington’s Rye is a pot-distilled rye produced at Hillrock under Washington’s original recipe by Mount Vernon master distiller Dave Pickerell. An unaged rye, the new offering is 43%-abv and retails at $70 a 375-ml.

•Salt Lake City’s Uinta Brewing Co. collaborated with local homebrewer Chris Detrick to introduce Cahoots Double Rye IPA. Uinta only produced 120 barrels of the beer, which is slated to hit shelves early this month. It is brewed using two types of malted rye, CTZ and Chinook hops and malted barley. Double Rye IPA is the first release under the Cahoots line, a brand that was recently developed to create annual limited release collaboration beers that rotate in style. And in keeping with Uinta’s tradition of supporting local art for its Crooked line, Double Rye IPA’s label was made by artist Andy Chase. Uinta’s lineup of brews is currently distributed in 24 states across the country.

•Northern Maine Distilling Company says it’s planning for a new phase of growth with a series of production upgrades and the appointment of two new executives. Northern Maine, which produces the Twenty 2 vodka brand ($26.99 a 750-ml.) recently moved into a newly renovated space in Brewer, Maine with upgraded chilling, filling and bottling processes. It also named sales and marketing professionals Anthony and Staci Dill to the new posts of vice president, strategy and development; and vice president, sales and marketing, respectively. Northern Maine’s founding husband and wife team of president Scott Galbiati and COO Jessica Jewell will continue in their current positions. Twenty 2 vodka is currently present throughout Maine, as well as at major retailers in New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and Maryland.
