June 11, 2013•Frederick, Maryland-based Flying Dog Brewery will add two new beers to its Brewhouse Rarities series in the coming weeks. Flying Dog Pineapple Saison will roll out this month, followed by Belgian Devil Ale in July. Pineapple Saison (6.1% abv)—which features Chinook hops and the Saison yeast strain, as well as White Wheat specialty malts, pineapple powder and orange peel—will be available on draft in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Belgian Devil Ale (8.5% abv), a golden ale featuring Pilsner and Carapils specialty malts and Northern Brewer, Saaz and Calypso Hops, will be available next month in 750-ml. bottles. The Brewhouse Rarities series has also included Easy IPA, Big Black Wit, Pumpernickel IPA, Green Tea Imperial Stout and Chipotle Dark Ale.
•The Santa Fe Brewing Co. is set to release a number of limited edition beers to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Santa Fe has unveiled a Saison, packaged in a commemorative limited edition can. They will also introduce the “Los Innovadores Series” as part of their growing sour barrel-aged program that was started in 2011. The series’ first release, Kriek, will roll out on June 17 in 750-ml. bottles, followed by Single Barrel Sour in September. Over the past two years, Santa Fe has increased production to 25,000 barrels per year and added four new states to its distribution footprint. The brewer’s lineup is available in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Kansas and Missouri, as well as Nevada beginning on June 17.
