•Bend, Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the release of the 6th vintage of its imperial porter, Black Butte XXV. It will be available in limited quantities over the next few weeks on draft and in 22-ounce wax-dipped bottles across most of the 21 states where Deschutes Brewery beers are sold. This year’s edition of the beer has added Theo’s cocoa nibs, Mission figs and Medjool dates. The brewer has also been celebrating its silver anniversary with the limited edition “Class of ’88” series, featuring collaborations with four other brewers—California’s North Coast Brewing Co., Oregon’s Rogue Brewery, Chicago’s Goose Island Beer Co. and Ohio’s Great Lakes Brewing Co.—which were also founded in 1988.

•San Diego-based Stone Brewing Co. has opened Stone Brewing Bistro and Gardens-Liberty Station, located in the former Naval Training Center in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. The new venue is Stone’s second restaurant, complementing its Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens-Escondido. The 55,000-square foot indoor and outdoor restaurant (the outdoor space is 30,000 square feet) seats 800 guests and has a 10-barrel brewhouse.
