Walsh To Become Chairman Of Compass Group

Paul Walsh will become chairman of Compass Group, one of the world’s largest catering companies, in 2014. Walsh will become a non-executive director of the Chertsey, England-based Compass on January 1, 2014, the company said earlier today in a statement, and assume the role of non-executive chairman at Compass’s annual general meeting on February 6. He replaces Roy Gardner. Walsh is stepping down as CEO of Diageo on July 1, and will retire from the drinks giant after a transitional year on June 30, 2014. Shanken News Daily reported that Walsh was Compass’s top candidate as chairman earlier this week
