June 25, 2013•Louisiana’s Abita Brewing Co. is investing $12 million in a new brewery expansion project, according to local news outlets. Set to begin later this summer, the project will reportedly include the construction of a 11,200-square-foot brewhouse, which is expected to grow Abita’s brewing capacity by 200 barrels. Additional plans call for a larger office and visitor center, as well as new cellar space for a dozen 800-barrel tanks. Located 30 miles north of New Orleans, Abita Brewing produces seven flagship brews, as well as five seasonals and a variety of specialties.
