August 6, 2013

•Kansas City, Missouri-based Boulevard Brewing Co. has released a new variety pack, permanently replacing its current 12-pack sampler. Rolling out this month, Boulevard’s new Sample Twelve offering will feature two year-round beers, as well as two experimental brews previously only available at the Boulevard tasting room. The debut Sample Twelve pack will include three bottles each of core labels Unfiltered Wheat Beer and 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer, and three bottles each of tasting room newcomers Westside Rye Ale and Mid-Coast IPA. The pack will rotate its lineup in early 2014. Boulevard, which produces a total of eight year-round labels, five seasonals and an array of specialties under its Smokestack Series, has a distribution footprint of 20 states.

•Houston-based Saint Arnold Brewing Co. is rolling out its beers into the state of Colorado. It will begin the expansion into the new market by launching its year-round beers—including Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer, Saint Arnold Elissa IPA and Santo, which are to launch in mid-September—followed by its seasonals. The brewer already has a presence in Texas and Louisiana. In other company news, Saint Arnold has also unveiled its upcoming release, Icon Gold. It will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on tap in bars and restaurants throughout Texas and Louisiana this fall. Created by brewer Aaron Inkrott, Icon Gold (9% abv) is a Bière de Saison inspired by traditional French and Belgian farmhouse-style ales. The brewer will also release a Bohemian Pils to the Icon line in December, called Saint Arnold Icon Red.
