Wild Turkey Unveils Forgiven, A Rye-Bourbon Hybrid
August 16, 2013Campari-owned Wild Turkey has released Forgiven, a limited edition blend of small batch Bourbon and high-proof rye whiskey. The 91-proof offering was created by accident, when a distillery crew member mistakenly combined the two liquids. The blend is 78% (6-year-old) Bourbon and 22% (4-year-old) rye. Wild Turkey Forgiven is currently rolling out in limited quantities, retailing at $49.99 a 750-ml.
The new offering joins an increasingly diverse Wild Turkey portfolio, which in addition to its core 81 and 101 entries, includes the Rye, Rare Breed, Kentucky Spirit, American Honey and Russell’s Reserve extensions. Last year, the brand was up 9.7% to 822,000 nine-liter cases, fueled largely by its flavored American Honey offshoot, which grew by more than 25% to 286,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
