•Santa Rita, the Chilean wine brand imported by Palm Bay International, has partnered with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans NFL football teams for the 2013-2014 season. Under the agreements, Santa Rita will serve as a “preferred partner” for both teams, available at both Sun Life Stadium in Miami and Reliant Stadium in Houston. The partnerships mark Santa Rita’s first professional football tie-ups in the U.S. Additionally, Santa Rita will link with South Florida-based spice producer Badia to promote food and wine tailgate pairings and highlight its Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Rita 120 Carmenere and Santa Rita 120 Chardonnay labels in particular. In addition to Santa Rita, Palm Bay also imports Chile’s Amaral, Erasmo, Intriga, MontGras and Nativa wine brands in the U.S.

•Glasgow, Scotland, is set to get its first distillery in more than 100 years, according to local news reports. The £10 million ($15.9m) project is being led by former Morrison Bowmore owner Tim Morrison, who currently serves as chairman of single malt Scotch bottler A.D. Rattray. Morrison plans to build a small-batch distillery with an annual capacity of 500,000 liters. Initial output, however, would likely be limited to 150,000 liters (about 200,000 bottles). The Glasgow project is still awaiting final approval, after which construction is slated to begin on the site’s distillery building, visitors center and cafe, with an expected completion date of 2015.
