Eric Vallat Replaces Piana As Rémy Martin CEO
January 27, 2014Rémy Cointreau has quickly filled the leadership void at its flagship Rémy Martin, appointing Eric Vallat as CEO of the Cognac house. Vallat replaces Patrick Piana, who Rémy Cointreau announced had left the position less than a week ago—just weeks after Rémy Cointreau CEO Frédéric Pflanz stepped down from his post (François Hériard Dubreuil replaced Pflanz in a transitional role).
Vallat joins Rémy Cointreau after spending the past six years as chairman of clothing retailer Bonpoint. He also served as managing director of shoe retailer J.M. Weston—like Bonpoint a subsidiary of EPI Group—from 2009 to 2012. He was also previously CEO of Louis Vuitton Europe and president and representative director of Christian Dior Couture Japan.
