La Crema Intros First Oregon Wine

March 12, 2014

Jackson Family Wines’ La Crema brand is making its first foray into Oregon wine with the launch of a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. To create the new offering, La Crema winemaker Elizabeth Grant-Douglas sampled grapes from throughout the valley and its sub-AVAs in an effort to reflect the character of the region. La Crema’s Willamette Valley Pinot Noir will be available this spring at retail and online priced at $30 a bottle. The entry joins the winery’s existing portfolio of appellation-specific California offerings, sourced from the Russian River Valley, Anderson Valley and Monterey. La Crema, selling mainly at the above-$20 level, has U.S. volume of around 850,000 cases.
