March 20, 2014•Craft moonshine distiller Stillhouse has partnered with Blackhealth Beverage Group, LLC, for marketing and distribution of its expanding portfolio across the U.S., effective immediately. Launched in 2010 to limited markets, Stillhouse Original Moonshine has gained momentum along with the moonshine category and is planning the release of four new flavored offerings—Stillhouse Red Hot (69 proof), Peach Tea, Apple Crisp and Coconut (all at 40 proof)—available at the end of April. Stillhouse joins Blackhealth’s growing portfolio of small independent brands, which also includes Atlantico Rum, as well as labels from Whyte & Mackay Americas and Oregon’s House Spirits.
•Los Cabos, Mexico’s Baja Brewing Co. has entered California via a new partnership with Southern Wine & Spirits. Under the agreement, Southern will distribute Baja’s flagship Cabotella blonde ale throughout the state, both on- and off-premise. California marks the fifth U.S. market for the Mexican craft brewer, joining Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. Baja Brewing, which produces a lineup of eight beers and operates three brewpubs in Mexico, first entered the U.S. market in 2012.
