•Texas-based Garrison Brothers Distillery is set to enter the New York market. This distillery is releasing an initial 3,000 bottles of its Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey to bars and retail outlets in New York, which joins Texas and Arizona in its distribution footprint. Billed as the first straight Bourbon whiskey entirely produced outside Kentucky or Tennessee, the distillery has made available its spring 2014 vintage and will later release its fall vintage across New York state. The Bourbon retails in the $85-$95 range. With production boosted by the addition of two extra 500-gallon pot stills in 2011, Garrison Brothers is now aging 6,000 barrels of its Bourbon.

•Missouri Beverage (MoBev) is adding Oregon’s Rogue Ales & Spirits to its distribution portfolio effective March 28. While Rogue has previously been present in Missouri, the partnership with MoBev is expected to open new opportunities, as MoBev recently created a craft team to promote brand growth and portfolio performance. Rogue’s craft beer portfolio includes American Amber Ale, Dead Guy Ale, Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout and Rouge Farms 7 Hop IPA. Its spirits offerings include Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, Dead Guy Whiskey, Spruce Gin, Pink Spruce Gin and Hazelnut Spice Rum. Rogue also operates brewpubs in Oregon, Washington and California and has distilleries in Newport and Portland, Oregon.

•Baltimore, Maryland’s Union Craft Brewing Company has completed its second expansion to increase capacity by 65% and is releasing its third canned beer offering. Union’s Blackwing Lager, a dark yet light-bodied German-style Schwarzbier, will now be produced in cans alongside Duckpin Pale Ale and Balt Altbier. The cans are available at retailers across Maryland and Washington, D.C. The additional capacity at the brewery will allow Union to meet demand for its existing beers while encouraging experimentation with new beer styles. The expansion adds three new fermentation tanks and a 3,000-square-foot unit next to the current brewery space. It is the second time since opening in June 2012 that the brewery has expanded.
