June 11, 2014•Sonoma County, California’s Bear Republic Brewing Company is returning its popular seasonal offering Café Racer 15 in limited distribution. The double IPA features Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops complemented by a dry malt finish, according to the company. Café Racer 15 (9.75%-abv) is available in limited 22-ounce bottles and on draft. Bear Republic is known for its flagship Racer 5 IPA, in addition to seasonal releases.
•Detroit’s Atwater Brewery is launching canned versions of three of its most popular beers. The craft brewer’s Dirty Blond Ale, Grand Circus Session IPA and Atwater Lager are currently rolling out in 12-ounce cans, with 16-ounce and 19-ounce canned formats to follow shortly. According to Atwater, the move marks the first time since 1985 that beer has been canned in Detroit. Specializing in German-style brews, Atwater Brewery has a current reach of roughly 17 U.S. markets.
