Exclusive: The Winebow Group Expands Into Wisconsin With Purple Feet Buy

The Winebow Group has extended its wholesale business to a 16th U.S. market, entering Wisconsin with the acquisition of distributor Purple Feet Wines. Based in Pewaukee, Purple Feet distributes statewide in Wisconsin, and counts more than 140 suppliers within its portfolio, which is focused on estate wineries and super-premium spirits.

Following the acquisition, the company will continue to operate under the Purple Feet Wines name. Joe Siler, The Winebow Group’s senior vice president, Midwest region, will oversee the unit, with Purple Feet’s Melanie Denhart to serve as vice president, general manager, Purple Feet Wines. The Winebow Group was formed last year via the merger of importer/wholesaler companies Winebow and The Vintner Group.
