April 6, 2015•Campari America’s Wild Turkey Bourbon is embarking on a new cross-country campaign titled the #Nevertamed Bourbon Tour. Kicking off in Dallas on April 3, the tour features a 50-foot Wild Turkey bus, billed as a “360-degree distillery on wheels.” The bus will travel across the U.S. through October, stopping in markets such as Louisville, New Orleans, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago, among others, with Wild Turkey master distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell slated to make special appearances. The #Nevertamed tour will focus on Wild Turkey’s latest innovations, including Master’s Keep, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Rye and Russell’s Reserve 1998.
•AnCnoc single malt Scotch whisky, part of the International Beverage portfolio, is introducing a new expression in its Limited Edition Peaty Collection, called Cutter. Following Rutter and Flaughter in the Peaty series, Cutter is a peated Highland malt produced at the Knockdhu Distillery. It is the most heavily peated expression in the range to date, with a phenol content of 20.5 parts per million (compared with 11 to 15 parts per million for Rutter and Flaughter). AnCnoc Cutter (46% abv) is launching this month at a retail price of $85 a bottle.
•Brown-Forman’s Tuaca liqueur has forged a new partnership with Denver-based Coors Field and Major League Baseball team the Colorado Rockies. Under the agreement, Coors Field’s 38,000-square-foot right-field terrace, previously dubbed The Rooftop, will be renamed the Tuaca Terrace. Additionally, Coors Field will offer drink specials featuring Tuaca, and the brand will also be given signage throughout the ballpark. A vanilla- and citrus-infused brandy liqueur, Tuaca retails for around $20 and sells roughly 125,000 cases annually in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Importer Southern Starz is debuting a new luxury gin, Los Apostoles, to the U.S. market. Crafted by Argentine mixologiest Tato Giovannoni, Los Apostoles is billed as a gin that is representative of the flavors of South America and mixes well with tropical ingredients. Retailing at $35 a bottle, it’s initially launching in Illinois, Texas, California, Florida, Connecticut, New York, Wisconsin and Minnesota. In addition to Los Apostoles, Southern Starz’s portfolio includes a host of wines from the Southern Hemisphere, including premium, mid-range and value offerings from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and Chile.
