Wine Spectator: Burgundy’s Domaine Leflaive Appoints Anne-Claude Leflaive’s Nephew As New Leader

May 18, 2015

The shareholders of Burgundy’s Domaine Leflaive have appointed Brice de la Morandière as the estate’s new managing director. De la Morandière is the nephew of Anne-Claude Leflaive, who managed the domaine for more than 20 years prior to her death last month.

De la Morandière, 50, is the fourth generation to run Domaine Leflaive since Joseph Leflaive began replanting the vineyards and domaine bottling in the 1920s. Since then, Domaine Leflaive has built a reputation as a leading producer of top-quality white Burgundy. Under Anne-Claude’s leadership, biodynamic farming was implemented in the vineyards and quality continued to improve. Wine Spectator has the full story.
