•Ste. Michelle Wine Estates is debuting Motto, a collection of fruit-forward California wines in three varietals. Motto’s 2013 Backbone Cabernet Sauvignon, Unabashed Zinfandel and Gung Ho Red Blend were created by the Ste. Michelle winemaking team using the same approach as that employed for its Washington wines but with California grapes. The Motto wines are available nationally this month at a suggested retail price of $15.

•St. Paul, Minnesota-based Johnson Brothers Liquor Co. has appointed former Diageo exec Mark Hubler to the role of president. He will report directly to Johnson Brothers CEO Michael Johnson and COO Todd Johnson. Hubler most recently served as president, U.S. spirits and wine-open states and national accounts for Diageo North America.
