Control State Spirits Volume Up 2.2% Through May
June 23, 2015Spirits volumes across U.S. control markets rose 2.2% year-to-date through May, according to NABCA, while spirits shelf dollars grew by 5%. Trends on both volume and value have decelerated in the year-to-date compared with their rolling 12 months averages, which were 2.7% by volume and 5.4% by value respectively. In the month of May, control state spirits volume increased 1.6% while value advanced by 4.3%. Meanwhile, control state wine volume declined 0.6% in May, and is up 1.4% on a rolling 12-month basis.
