Ste. Michelle Shipments Rise 4.9% In First Half, Even As 14 Hands Slows

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has reported a net revenue increase of 7.3% to $295 million for its first half ended June 30, as shipments rose 4.9% to 3.77 million cases over the same six-month period last year. The Washington winemaker’s Chateau Ste. Michelle and 14 Hands brands both posted low-single-digit growth in the first half, rising 3.8% to 1.35 million cases and 1.7% to 770,000 cases respectively. The first six months of 2015 marked a slowdown for 14 Hands, whose depletions grew 21% to 1.7 million cases in 2014, according to Impact Databank. Columbia Crest, however, emerged as a standout for Ste. Michelle in the first half, jumping 20% to reach 454,000 cases.
