Campari Posts 15.7% First Half Sales Growth In Americas

August 4, 2015

Propelled by solid organic growth for most of its key brands and a favorable exchange rate, Italy’s Gruppo Campari posted 15.7% sales growth in the Americas region for the first half of 2015. Campari achieved 3.4% organic growth in the region—which accounts for nearly 43% of overall sales—for the six-month period, while an exchange rate impact of +15.1% boosted the company’s performance.

In the U.S., where Campari does just over 21% of its business, the company enjoyed 3% organic sales growth, driven by strong gains for Skyy (+4.6%) and Wild Turkey (+8.2%). Campari’s key aperitif brands—including flagship Campari and Aperol—also were on the rise, as was the company’s Jamaican rum range, led by Appleton Estate and Wray&Nephew Overproof.

Gruppo Campari registered 10.5% overall sales growth in the first half, to €758 million ($833m), with 2.7% organic growth. Click here to read SND’s exclusive interview with new Campari America managing director Ugo Fiorenzo.
