•New Belgium Brewing is tweaking the recipes of two of its longest-running beers: Abbey Belgian Style Dubbel and Trippel Belgian Style Ale. Both began as homebrew recipes more than 25 years ago and are being “updated for a new era,” the company says. In addition to Munich malt, Trippel (8.5% abv) will now include Pilsener malt and hop variety Hallertau Mittelfrüh, for an herbal and spicy nose. Abbey, meanwhile, has added Caramunich and Special W malts and is at 7% abv. For a short time, both the new and old versions of Abbey and Trippel ales will be side-by-side on shelves. The new Abbey expression will carry a sell-by date of 6/19/16 or later, while Trippel’s new incarnation will be dated 4/17/16 or later.

•Portland, Oregon’s Laurelwood Brewing Company is set to release six new fresh-hopped beers. The rollouts will include two fresh-hop variants each of Laurelwood’s core offerings Workhorse IPA and Free Range Red Ale, as well as two all-new fresh-hopped brews: one a Kolsch and one a lager. Laurelwood’s beers can be found in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Pennsylvania, British Columbia and Japan.

•Lebanon, Kentucky-based Limestone Branch Distillery has unveiled its new Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon, featuring a blend of 7-year-old rye, 7-year-old wheated and 12-year-old rye whiskies. Limited to 6,000 bottles, the new entry will officially debut later this month during the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and retail at around $105. Limestone Branch, which also produces the Moon Pie Moonshine, T.J. Pottinger Sugar Shine and Precinct No. 6 whiskey brands, sold a 50% stake in the company to St. Louis marketer Luxco late last year.
