September 17, 2015•Boston’s Harpoon Brewery and Bend, Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery are releasing a collaborative beer EHOP, with each company creating a different version. Celebrating the breweries’ respective employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), both recipes are brewed with employee-grown hops, “EHOPs,” and local ingredients. Harpoon’s EHOP is part of its 100 Barrel Series. The twin 8%-abv brews are available in their respective markets next month in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft.
•Portland, Oregon-based Cider Riot! has partnered with Maletis Beverage for distribution in its home state and southwest Washington following two years of self-distribution. Maletis will handle all bottled Cider Riot! products beginning this month, and take on all draft offerings by the end of the year. Cider Riot! will continue to self-distribute in Corvallis and Eugene, Oregon and central and northern Washington. Its line of dry ciders is available in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Norway.
