October 9, 2015•Cooperstown, New York’s Brewery Ommegang has partnered with Belgian brewer Liefmans to launch Rosetta, a Belgian kriek, or cherry beer. Made with a blend of old Flemish brown ale aged on cherries for at least three years and young Flemish brown ale, Rosetta is a 5.6%-abv entry featuring both tart and sweet flavor notes. The new expression will be available in 11.2-ounce-bottle four-packs ($10.99 each) throughout Ommegang’s 43-state footprint.
•Edwards, Colorado-based Crazy Mountain Brewing Co. has opened its second brewing facility with a recent expansion into Breckenridge Brewery’s former Denver production site. Crazy Mountain took over the Breckenridge facility earlier this year, following Breckenridge’s decision to relocate with a brand new brewery in Littleton, Colorado. Crazy Mountain began brewing in the Denver space in August. The addition of the second brewery, which has an annual capacity of 65,000 barrels, will allow Crazy Mountain to grow its output from 15,000 barrels to 90,000 barrels a year.
•Paradox Beer Co. is expanding into the Massachusetts market through a distribution deal with Massachusetts Beverage Alliance. The Divide, Colorado-based brewer, known for its barrel-aged and bottle-conditioned products, was founded in 2012, and has brands including Skully Barrel and Cafe Vaillant. In addition to Massachusetts, Paradox’s brews are distributed to Colorado, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Washington and Wisconsin.
