TWE To Provide Calorie Info For All Its Wines

Treasury Wine Estates is set to provide calorie info for its entire bottled wine portfolio, claiming to be the first wine company to do so. The voluntary move will see TWE detail the calorie info for each of its brands online, with the relevant web address included on each bottle’s label. The initiative will initially commence across Europe, with the Americas, Asia, Australia and New Zealand to follow.

Earlier this fall, Diageo began rolling out new Crown Royal Canadian whisky packaging that includes nutritional info. Prior to a recent ruling by the TTB, beverage alcohol producers were mostly prohibited from listing such facts their labels. The practice is now allowed on a voluntary basis.
