December 29, 2015•Control state spirits volume rose 2.8% in November, according to NABCA, with the rolling 12-month volume rate increasing to 3.2% from 2.9% a month earlier. In the calendar year-to-date, spirits case volume growth has accelerated to 2.6% from 1.9% during the same period a year ago. On the value side, control state spirits sales grew 4.8% during November and 5.2% year-to-date, outpacing last year’s 11-month rate of 4.4%. Irish whiskey continued to drive growth with a 13% rise in November, while vodka was up 3% and Brandy/Cognac, gin, Scotch and Tequila all saw accelerated progress compared with their 12-month averages. Meanwhile, control state wine volume inched up 1.1% both in the month of November and on a rolling 12-month basis.
