Foley Family Wines Acquires Chalone From Diageo
February 8, 2016Foley Family Wines has agreed to acquire California’s Chalone Vineyards from Diageo, as the drinks giant continues to shed its wine assets. The purchase includes the Chalone Estate Vineyard and Gavilan brands as well as nearly 1,000 contiguous acres, with 240 acres planted to vine. Known for estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Chalone sources from the oldest producing vineyard in Monterey County, and has been part of the Diageo portfolio since 2004.
