U.S. Government Officially Renews Pernod’s Havana Club Trademark Through 2026

After awarding the U.S. trademark for Havana Club rum to Pernod Ricard and Cubaexport in a surprise move last month, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has officially renewed the trademark through January 27, 2026. The Coral Gables, Florida-based Bacardi USA, which also claims ownership of the Havana Club brand in the U.S., has in recent weeks officially petitioned the U.S. government to reverse its decision, and has vowed to press its case in court.
