Glenmorangie Unveils New Series Of Limited-Release Whiskies
February 16, 2017Glenmorangie is launching a new series of limited release whiskies called the Bond House No. 1 Collection. The inaugural entry in the series is Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1990, debuting in the U.S. this month at a retail price of $630.
Aimed at whisky collectors, the new series takes its name from the largest of Glenmorangie’s 19th century bonded warehouses, which was transformed into a stillhouse in 1990 to accommodate rising demand.
Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1990 was aged for 25 years in ex-Bourbon casks, with a small parcel matured in ex-Sherry casks. The limited edition is chill-filtered and bottled at 43% abv.
Marc Hoellinger, president and CEO of The Glenmorangie Co. at Moët Hennessy, told SND, “The aim is to celebrate a very small parcel of our most aged whisky. Vintages aren’t very common in the industry, so the Bond House No. 1 Collection is something we can offer to collectors that’s a bit of a different approach. We’ll only launch the best vintages, not every year, delivering a very specific taste experience to the consumer.” —Daniel Marsteller
