Coppola Boosts Sonoma Presence With Silverwood Vineyard Acquisition

April 7, 2017

The Family Coppola has purchased Silverwood Vineyard, a 13-acre site located in Sonoma’s Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak AVA. The purchase price wasn’t disclosed. Acquired from Silverwood Ranch owners Barry and Jackie Hoffner, Silverwood Vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Coppola already has been sourcing fruit for its Archimedes wine brand from the property.

Following the sale, the vineyard will be renamed Archimedes Vineyard. The move marks Coppola’s third major Sonoma County investment in recent years, following its acquisition of Chateau Souverain and the Geyser Peak winery in 2010 and 2013, respectively.—Christina Jelski
