Craft Brewing and Distilling News for October 3, 2017
October 3, 2017•California’s Stone Brewing has launched Vengeful Spirit IPA, its latest seasonal release, to bars and retailers nationwide. Vengeful Spirit is a 7.3%-abv IPA brewed with Herkules, Mosaic, Loral and Mandarina Bavaria hops, along with pineapple and Mandarin orange. The newcomer is meant to dovetail with the trend toward tropical-fruit flavored IPAs. Stone’s Vengeful Spirit IPA is rolling out now in six-packs of 12-ounce cans.
•Oregon-based Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider has leased space to open a new cidery. Located roughly a mile away from its Portland headquarters, the 21,000-square-foot site will serve as Reverend Nat’s new production facility, with a capacity of close to 25,000 barrels. Production will be relocated from the company’s original facility to the new cidery by early 2018. Reverend Nat’s existing 7,000-square-foot location, meanwhile, is being updated to focus on taproom and retail operations. Known for its Revival Hard Apple, Sacrilege Sour Cherry, Hallelujah Hopricot and Deliverance Ginger Tonic labels, Reverend Nat’s is on track to produce 5,500 barrels for 2017.
