November 14, 2017•Lincoln, Nebraska-based Empyrean Brewing Co. has announced its newest seasonal beer: Winter Wisdom Hazelnut Brown Ale. The 5.3%-abv offering is brewed with four different malt varieties, two kinds of hops, and hazelnuts for a malt-driven brew. Winter Wisdom will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft in Empyrean’s nine-state, Midwestern distribution footprint.
•Washington state’s Backwoods Brewing Co. has launched the Stumbler, a new Bourbon-barrel-aged stout. A 12%-abv Imperial Stout, the Stumbler is aged for 18 months in 50-gallon, ex-Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels, of which 12 were used to create the limited offering. The Stumbler is now available at the Backwoods Brew Pub in Carson, Washington, on draft and in 22-ounce bottles. It’s also currently rolling out to independent tap houses and bottle shops throughout Oregon and Washington.
