Chile’s Domaines Bournet Lapostolle Will Partner With Winebow Group In U.S. Market
November 29, 2017Domaines Bournet Lapostolle, the Chile-based wine group that includes the Lapostolle and Clos Apalta labels, has signed a new U.S. import agreement with MundoVino, a division of the Winebow Group. The portfolio will move from Terlato Wines, effective January 1.
Last December, the Lapostolle wines were reacquired by the Marnier-Lapostolle family, which had sold them to Gruppo Campari along with its Grand Marnier liqueur brand earlier in the year. “With the new reality of being outside the Grand Marnier group, we’ve been realigning our distribution,” says Charles de Bournet Marnier Lapostolle, CEO of Domaines Bournet Lapostolle. “Winebow has a unique perspective on the market because it owns its distribution, which covers more than 20 states.”
The Domaines Bournet Lapostolle portfolio does around 40,000 cases in the U.S. The range includes Lapostolle Grand Selection ($12.99-$13.99); Le Rosé ($15.99); new red blend Lapostolle Le Rouge (around $17.99); single varietal Cuvée Alexandre ($26.99); the Collection tier ($34.99) and luxury label Borobo ($120). Separate is icon wine Clos Apalta ($135) and its new second label Le Petit Clos ($49.99).—David Fleming
