Total Wine & More To Enter Colorado This Summer
May 9, 2018Total Wine & More is set to enter the Colorado market. The retailer is planning to open a store in Denver’s University Park neighborhood at 3905 E. Evans Ave., a former Office Depot site, later this summer. Total tells SND it has plans for additional Colorado stores and sees “great opportunity” in the market.
The move comes following Colorado’s recent loosening of restrictions on retail liquor licenses, which previously limited licensees to one location. Under the changes, pharmacy-licensed grocery stores with one liquor license may apply for four additional licenses, provided they purchase at least two existing retail stores in the same area. Also, liquor store operators may apply for another license plus additional licenses in 2022 and 2027 for a total of four.
