June 11, 2018•Moët-Hennessy’s Moët & Chandon Champagne brand has unveiled its first global ad campaign since 2015. Running under the tagline “Must Be,” the new platform centers on a 90-second film that aims to showcase Moët & Chandon’s full portfolio and “moments of celebration both big and small.” French director Manu Cossu created the film, which debuted over the weekend. The second-largest Champagne label in the U.S., Moët & Chandon was up nearly 5% to 434,000 cases last year in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Anthony Bourdain, the chef, author, and television host who grabbed America’s attention when he revealed the hard work and hard living of the chefs in restaurant kitchens, died Friday, an apparent suicide. He was 61. Bourdain was in France, filming an episode of Parts Unknown when he killed himself in his hotel room, according to CNN. His close friend Eric Ripert, the French chef, found Bourdain unresponsive Friday morning. Wine Spectator looks back at Bourdain’s life and career.
